We are seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Engineer (AWS) to lead our cloud infrastructure initiatives, ensuring security, reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS cloud environments while driving automation, monitoring, security compliance, and best practices for development velocity and CI/CD improvements.

Your Arena

Cloud Infrastructure & Security

• Serve as the AWS cloud infrastructure expert, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services, adhering to best practices.
• Enforce AWS security policies, IAM roles, least privilege access, MFA, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with SOC2, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

• Implement and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using AWS SAM
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
• Develop CI/CD strategies to streamline deployment processes.

Monitoring & Cost Optimization

• Implement AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Grafana, and Lumigo for proactive monitoring and optimization.
• Optimize AWS costs by identifying inefficiencies and implementing resource-sizing strategies.
• Define and maintain alerting mechanisms for security threats, cost anomalies, and performance degradation.

Performance, Debugging & Developer Productivity

• Improve end-to-end (E2E) testing to ensure infrastructure reliability and developer efficiency.
• Enhance local development environments for smoother workflows.
• Optimize debugging tools and performance monitoring for rapid issue resolution.

Cloud Architecture & Scalability

• Design and maintain scalable, high-availability, and secure AWS cloud architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend new AWS services to enhance system performance.
• Ensure infrastructure is capable of handling increasing data and traffic loads.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Act as a subject matter expert for AWS-related queries across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with developers and operations teams to align cloud strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring cloud engineering talent.

What It Takes:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 5+ years in AWS - Must
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.) - Must
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles (SOC2, GDPR, IAM policies, MFA, encryption) - Must
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (AWS SAM, CloudFormation) - Must
• Proficiency in cost optimization and monitoring tools (AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, Grafana, Lumigo) - Must
• Experience with performance monitoring, debugging, and developer productivity enhancements
• Knowledge of E2E testing frameworks and improving local development environments
• B.S.c in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lead cloud engineering projects and drive AWS best practices across teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and participating in hiring processes
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect / AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Advantage
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, NodeJS, Python or similar) - Advantage
• Experience in cloud automation and orchestration (CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS CodePipeline) - Advantage
