Director of Data Science

Bigabid is an innovative technology company led by data scientists and engineers devoted to mobile app growth. Our proprietary ad platforms powered by machine learning are the outcome of that devotion.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Data Science to lead our team and develop impactful, data-driven solutions. Reporting to the VP of Data, this role will shape our data science function and align it with key business goals.

Machine learning has been integral to our product since day one, driving our success and defining our competitive advantage. As the Director of Data Science, you will lead a team that builds the core of our product, contributing to innovation and scalability in a dynamic industry. Your work will have a significant impact on the company’s growth and direction.

We’re looking for a leader with a strong technical background, a creative approach to problem-solving, and proven experience managing and motivating teams. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to an organization where data science plays a central role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the data science group.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of data scientists and managers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Provide guidance in classical machine learning and deep learning methodologies.
• Oversee ideation, deployment, and support of critical machine learning models.
• Implement structured processes for project execution and talent development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into workflows.
• Measure and communicate the business impact of data science initiatives.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• 12+ years in data science, including 3+ years with deep learning.
• 5+ years of experience managing teams, including other managers.
• Success in deploying impactful machine learning models.
• Hands-on expertise in machine learning and a strong business acumen.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in a big data environment (petabyte scale) 
• Creative, motivated, and capable of generating innovative solutions.
• Experienced with ML over tabular data - an advantage
• Advanced statistical skills - an advantage
• Ad-tech experience - an advantage
